Improvements and New Features

  • Brand new front-end theme (Apollo) to replace the 'default' theme from v2.x.
    • 100% mobile-friendly layout.
    • Compatible with the built-in theme customizer
  • Brand-new admin area with a responsive layout.
  • Replaced the password hashing method for increased security.
  • Added Google as a supported sign-in and account creation method.
  • Added Google Drive as a supported video source.

Code Improvements

  • Upgraded our code to be PHP 7.x compatible. Version 3.0 is compatible with any PHP version from 5.5 to the latest.
  • Upgraded Smarty template engine to latest version.
  • Upgraded PHPMailer to the latest version.
  • Updated JavaScript libraries to their latest versions.

Player Changes

  • Added support for JW Player 8
  • Upgraded Video JS code and implemented our own custom skin.
  • Included an in-player ad zone for banners

Series Module

Starting with v3.0 you can group videos into series and episodes. This is great for podcasts, web series and shows in general.

  • Group videos by: Genre > Series > Episodes
  • Provide multiple sources/mirrors for the same episode. Sources can be uploads, direct video links or embedded players.
  • Support for custom fields.
  • Same functionality and labeling available to regular videos is available to episodes.
  • Completely integrated into the front-end.
  • Easy to enable/disable the entire module as desired.
