As you may know we’ve been working on a new update for PHP Melody since the beginning of 2013. Today we’re happy to announce the release date for PHP Melody v1.9 is set for February 21st.
We’re still in the development phase but for the time being we’d like to share with you some of the coming features and improvements.
Among those we’d like to mention:
- pre-roll static ads with custom targeting
- built-in layout customization with live preview
- logo upload from the admin area
- user login with email (in addition to the username)
- enable/disable new registrations
- a higher level of control over video listings
- rich snippets for your video pages (provides thumbnails next to your google search results)
- ability to replace existing videos with an embedded video (admin area)
- filter comments by “unapproved” status (admin area)
- search and filter is now sticky (admin area)
- ban users directly from the comments list
- multiple/simultaneous image uploads throughout the admin area (article, page, video posting/editing)
- …and 30 bugs fixed
By the way, if you’re interested in testing out the new features, keep an eye on the forums later this week for the “beta test” announcement.
Can there be a feature in the admin panel where if you importing 20 or more videos from youtube, you can select all the video at once and select a category and when you click import, all would be imported to that category.
Currently, you have to select video one by one and then select a category for each one, which is time consuming.
You’ll be happy to know that is already possible. I made a quick video for you illustrating the steps: http://screenr.com/ldD7
it would be cool if we can sort the search for youtube videos by date
Seeing how v1.9 is only a day away, there’s no time to include this suggestion. Perhaps in v2.0 🙂
