Good news PM Fans! We’re currently gearing up towards a new PHP Melody release: version 1.6.7.
This new release will be officially introduced in the next 24 hours; October 13th to be more precise.
So, what’s new in this release?
Well, there are a couple of things we’re glad to share with you right now:
- Infinite levels of subcategories
- Videos can now be assigned to multiple categories
- Video sitemap generator
- JW Player skin support with 19 pre-loaded skins to choose from
- Email settings tester (to ensure your mail settings are working)
- New video sources
- New translations
These are just the new features we’ve added to PHP Melody. There’s also a list of things we improved and bugs we sorted out from the current version.
We want to send a sincere “THANK YOU!” to all those involved in submitted bug reports and helping us make PHP Melody a better video cms.
While this isn’t a head-spinning release, we strongly recommend you upgrade from 1.6.6 to this new release solely for the improvements and bug fixes.
As soon as PM 1.6.7 becomes available, we will send emails to all our newsletter subscribers, post announcements on our Facebook Fan Page and in our forums.

Yay! When are the templates going to be updated or new ones created?
The templates will be updated for this new version as soon as the release is out. This means they will be compatible with version 1.6.7.
New templates will be released shortly. I reviewed the existing templates we have to offer and I think it’s time we can add new ones. PHP Melody is a great system but it could use a better look.
As a side note, today we made all the templates available for live preview. Until recently we only had screenshots of them.

One thing that would be good to know is how the upgrade process is going to be?
We’ll offer a “manual” update for those of you who modified you PM video sites and an “automatic” method of updating. The automatic method consists in overwriting the PM files.
The update process is well documented for both methods.

Yes. Just like the previous versions. 🙂
the previous versions didn’t have a forum i know your just kidding with me .. but it would be great if this release has forum since theres no proper working forum plugin for pm..
Sorry. I was not kidding but I did misunderstood your question. The answer is no, there will not be a bridge.
can we expect a forum or a proper forum bridge in the near future or any time soon.
