PHP Melody v2.6: First update of 2016. Available now.

Ladies and gentlemen,

After a few months of development we're ready to release another brand new PHP Melody update.

Today's release marks the first update of this year and a wonderful beginning to what announces to be a great 2016.

This new release includes some much requested features. We invite you to find out why v2.6 is a must-have update and check out the new features.

If you're already running PHP Melody v2.5, you can download the 2.6 update package from your customer area account. Log into your account and from the 'Download Updates' page, download the phpmelody_26_update.zip file.

Footnotes about updating:

[1] Backup. Backup. Backup. If anything goes wrong you can always rollback.
[2] We've performed tests to ensure the update works out of the box. However, given the wide variety of possible hosting configurations out there and the possibility of critical bugs, consider applying this update in a test environment first.
[3] All PHP Melody themes have also been updated. If you're using anything but the 'default' PHP Melody theme, you'll want to download the latest version of your current theme and use it instead of the existing one.
[4] Applying the current update to any other PHP Melody version besides v2.5 will crash your site. Always apply updates without skipping any versions. Read more about this here.

Everything went fine..as I was checking stuff to make sure it worked
I noticed when I click the random video
I get a white blank page.

Somehow loading videos from categories in homepage doesnt work. Before updating it went smooth, but now it just shows from only 1 category.

Im using following:

Haven't changed anything before and after updating. Would like to fix.

Edit:
Nevermind, I had to change submitted="admin" to the actual username. Everything works as charm now.

Yes, Mobile Melody was updated as well (bug fixes and improvements). Yes, I would advise you to update but it's not imperative.

But mobile melody stopped working...

Another issue:

I m using Ruby Theme

1- Sky Scrapper not working in Ruby Theme
2- Unable to upload DP and channel BG from Ruby Theme

@omarema - I've replied to your emails with more details.

@Crowley - simply update your _URL link in /config.php to use https:// instead of http://. The domain name has to have a valid SSL certificate installed.

@morllaines - That's correct. We've made it work this way as multiple customers complained about this. If you want the control bar to hide in your JW Player 6 instance, remove these lines from /templates/css/new-style.css:

In v2.6 we've tightened up security and that seems to have caused some problems with video/article category removal.

If you've updated to v2.6 before this post please apply the patched files (only 2 files) available in this topic:
