Guys, it is easier to make a bridge to a popular gallery script and adapt to the current template.
I would suggest the plogger script. I did a plugin in the past used by many so far.
It has many features built in.

If you check it you will see that it is easy to make a template that mimic the current phomemody template. At least for me

Also if you make a bridge between phomemody and blogger your visitors will be able to upload photos, images and so on.
This way you can have videos with Rihanna for instance and full album with her as well.

The import is easy. You can even compress as zip all photos and the script will automatically decompress them and them to the gallery.

don't wait for the official modifications, just do them yourself. I did this since 2008. So bad I have not so much time for it anymore.
