main page category

I'm thinking of using ultimate regnow on a software niche site. Is it possible (easy) to set it up so it show 1 particular category on the main page? - similar to custom amazon stores.

for example: antivirus domain shows all regnow antivirus software on front page, all other categories are still listed in menu.

I'm a user, so this is not an official response. I don't think it would be easy. You'd have to hack the code to have some extra selection in the SQL query that gets the data for that page, I think.

You've posted a very good question orbitor.

It's not very hard to do it. You'd have to remove the categories you don't wish to appear from the MySQL table.

It's not that I want to get rid of the other categories completely, I just want to change which category is shown on the front page.

I think removing the categories from the database will make the other categories unavailable, yes?

I want to feature a category but I don't want to loose a possible sale in a different category

You choose the products that rotate in the featured section. If you wanted to change Top Downloads or Latest Additions to something else then you'd need to change the SQL query that gets the data.
