PHP Melody v1.9 (Beta)

PHP Melody starts the year on a good note.

Version 1.9 is the first serious update in 2013. The release date for PHP Melody v1.9 is February 21st. More updates will follow

Here are most of the features and improvements included in v1.9:

New Features
* Mass image upload in the WYSIWYG editor for videos, articles, pages, etc.
* Rich snippet support for enhanced search engine listings
* Video & article categories meta and rich HTML description support (illustrated here)
* Logo upload/manager in admin area (illustrated here)
* Live theme editor (illustrated here)
* Pre-roll ads with HTML support and time limit. Highly customizable. (illustrated here)
* User login with email and/or username
* Disable/enable user registrations

Improvements
* Links for 'Pages' have been moved to the top in the header menu
* Existing videos can be edited and replaced with embed code
* Customizable limit of listings for the articles widget, new & top video page, etc.
* Enable/disable video suggestions
* Last login IP is now being recorded as well
* Improved 'Related' videos listing
* Copy/paste of video tags (previously impossible)
* Comments posted by admins or moderators are auto-approved if comments require moderation
* Sticky filter/search throughout the entire admin area's listings
* Updated languages with Hebrew and Dutch.
* Improved video upload in the admin area
* Filter comments in admin area by "Unapproved"
* Ban users without leaving the comments list or video/article page

In addition to all these goodies, we sorted exactly 40 bugs that were reported in v1.8.1.

Viewing with IE10, it looks good with Compat off. But with Compat on there is still the same problems with dropdown menus being hidden behind the other graphics. Still not 100% fixed.

There were some problems (non-PHP Melody) with the beta which were promptly fixed. Now it should be OK.

I like the new pre-roll ads My only question is, on a website importing in videos from youtube, is it wise to use this feature? I wouldn't want to use it and find it pisses google off.

It's wise to play by the rules. If their TOS says don't do it, then don't. Simple as that

Me questions are:
Is there language autoselect? Not sure
Will be planned paging on first page (home screen)? (next versions)
Will be planned easy adding custom player? If someone dislike embed, jwplayer and like someone else... (next versions)

Hello.

Just like we have "LIKE or No Like" underneath each video, can you please do that for articles and include it in the latest version ? These likes should also be stored in the pm_bin_something_something_meta and a score be associated for them (Just like videos).

Having this feature, can help us build additional features on top of melody.
