Which hosting company are you with? We've seen this problem before and it is hosting specific but unfortunately we haven't found a fix yet.

@sopheak - in case you haven't emailed me via support please do so. We're working on a solution for this at the moment.

Hi Guys,

Here's the answer I got today from hostmonster.com where I have my phpmelody hosted.

Hello.

I'm not exactly certain how IPv6 plays into all of this, however the statement "I did a test against bluehost.com and both the IPV4 and 6 test failed. There is something wrong over there big time." would suggest that it's not going to work here either at all, as we're actually using the same exact systems that Bluehost is using. They're our sister company, there's no difference between our systems.

That said, sorry, but whatever you're going to need to get it up and running here is seemingly not going to be able to be provided by our system.

How did we do? Please help us to improve the support that we offer you
by filling out this online survey:

Thank you,

Go figure... It was working just fine for a good time and now it isn't. Can someone recommend a new host for me. I do have some sites listed at lunarpages.com. Is anyone hosting phpmelody with them?

PHP Melody comes with a "patched" Youtube source for exactly such situations.

Here's how to easily solve the IPv6 issue: http://help.phpmelody.com/youtube-ipv6-fix/

Thank for the info Andrew. Unfortunately, after I read the post that will resolve the issue, it said, "Note: this applies to PHP Melody v1.8.1 or newer" I have version 1.67 and it's heavily modified with Trace and Muzikia mods, etc. and I've set it up for education videos. And, having read on the forum what other users are saying about the upgrade, it doesn't make any sense for me to make the upgrade unless I can retain everything I already have. I'm happy with version 1.67 and it was doing exactly what I wanted it to do until the failed to connect issue "popped up its ugly head." I don't want to change my hosting provider unless I absolutely have to, so is there a way to fix this problem, so I can retain what I already use and without having to change my hosting provider? I'm open to any suggestions and for any help on this matter from anyone...

You could simply download 1.9 and use the youtube src file for ipv6 from that version. As the source files didnt change much it should keep working.
Just back the old one up and if it breaks anything place it back

You certainly don't have to change providers for this little issue. Let us know if what Trace suggested, worked for you.
