Feedback on Education Portal

Hi I have started http://www.gyancentral.com/video to provide free education videos for students. I have customized the design and the login as I run joomla and vbulletin under the same domain name. I have also integrated FB comments in the video page. Kindly give me your thoughts on the site and how I can improve it?

Overall I like the website; the template is nice, different to the already good-to-go ozenyx templates (they are really fine but the webmasters have no imagination to change something) and it has a good blending of colors, matching the main domain.

I would like though:
- the category button (on the right) have a different color; it is easier this way to be seen (why this: usual, in 99% of cases the categories are on the left, so the eye usually move that way);
- I would like to see also in the menu TOP VIDEO, ... something linked to the study field (SCIENCE ARTICLES)
- also, i would be interested to read description for all the videos (as science/study videos)
- I would like to see some eye-catching banners with the main categories of your website: OCEANOGRAPHY - GEOLOGY
- try to have also an article area on your website with the LATEST news in the science area / if possible + videos
(ps: I've seen your main domain: you can get the rss with news from the main domain and show it in the PHM).
- I would try to match the 2 designs, more and more. (i like it right now but I would push it)
- i recommend have a link from the videos section to the main website
Overall, I like it and good luck with it.
PS: have the "grandmother" test for your website:
- visit your grandmother or somebody who didnt hear of Facebook
- let her navigate your website and record her mistakes.
Based on this you will see how you will have to improve it (as usability)

I see many use the old adage, "If it's fixed, break it". We all can give you all sorts of inputs but the proof in the pudding is what does your clients (users) think.

My site is just color changed. And my Clients (users) are used to that. Right or wrong. If I go into doing a lot of changes, there is an old saying that translates to "Resistance to Change". And I don't use your site so my inputs are completely worthless.
