Some of you guys may have some parts of PHP Melody already patched. This is why you get the duplicate function error for example

All you have to do is reverse this step.

Please pay more attention to what has been posted in a topic before posting a new message.

after upgrade from 1.4 to 1.4.1 i get this error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare specialchars() (previously declared in /usr/home/deb6978/domains/muziekvinder.com/public_html/include/functions.php:861) in /usr/home/deb6978/domains/muziekvinder.com/public_html/include/functions.php on line 1377

This has been resolved in this thread per support
It means you don't need to update functions.php.

Found an bug/problem in the sitemap.xml , if i upload this on to google.nl/webmaster , i get an error, In the sitemap if find this : My site map can be found here: http://www.muziekvinder.com/sitemap.xml

It created: Fatal error: Call to undefined function specialchars()

So I reverted back to the previous file and my page
loaded as normal.

When applying the patch I encountered the following:

When patching includes/functions.php I looked up the lines to be replaced, applied the patch and my site went blank, completely white in color.

I changed this back and the site works again. The error for wich this patch is ment does not apply to my site anyway so I do not mind.


Second; I want to apply thepatch for the avatar problem, but in my memberlist.php I can find the lines to be replaced (in orange text), folowed already by the lines that need to replace the text.
What i mean is if I replace the orange text, I get two times a block of thesame code ???

Is this correct ???

I download patch 1.4 and after having problems with the installation, I decided to wait now I see that version 1.4.1 also users has some problems.

To the developers I will like to ask you if you guys can look for a way to apply this updates without having to edit/add code lines, etc, after applying the updates and following the instructions and changing the code, they site looks horrible, thanks God I kept a backup and restore everything back, will be nice if a nice update and complete files are made that the user/owner no need to touch the code, and keep us out of some mistakes.

Again this little updates files that you send don’t help a lot, if you send the full version update the user/owner can re-install the script and only add the information into the database, well that will be more easy for me.

I think the user should only backup the database, and then you may send the full PHP Melody update then you can tell the user how to update the database information.

This is what I did when I change my hosting company; I just save the database and then added to the new phpMyAdmin hosting company, upload the site and everything was fine and nothing was lost.
