PHP Melody 1.5 release date

Hi guys,

As you all know we've been pretty busy these past few 6-7 weeks with PHP Melody 1.5.

We have delayed the release date a bit because of some difficulties. When working on such a product, the more features you add the more bugs you find. We absolutely had/have to fix all known bugs before releasing the update.

The release date for PHP Melody 1.5 is: Wednesday, 16 July 2008.

I don't want to ruin a pleasant surprise by revealing too much so here are some features that you will be able to enjoy by upgrading to 1.5:

[1] Custom player (fully customizable, brandable with your own logo, secure)

[2] New Youtube API - The current API will no longer be supported by Youtube starting with August this year so we've switched to the new one as well. No need for a Developer ID anymore if you want to import videos from Youtube.

[3] Improved Importing from Youtube.

[4] Compatible with new video sources including Google Video, DailyMotion. Metacafe, MySpace, MyVideo.de, Veoh and a few more.

[5] Video uploading - You can now upload, host and stream your own videos on your PHP Melody site.

[6] Enhanced admin area with many tweaks designed make your life easier.

[7] Multi-language - only for fresh installations.

[8] Guest commenting with moderation.

[9] PHP Melody 1.5 is more dynamic since it uses more Ajax all thanks to jQuery.

[10] Updates for existing templates will also be released on the same date.

[11] Other important tweaks and improvements.

Hi guys,

We've been working really hard, barely getting some rest in the past few days however we just couldn't finish everything for today as planed.

A major bug with FLV uploading was recently found and it took a lot of time to patch.

Today is the 16th and we should be releasing the 1.5 version however we really have to push this deadline until the 19th. If by any chance we finish sooner we will surely release it before 19th.

Please remember that what we're doing is trying to deliver the best and only the best 1.5 update possible.
