Damned DDOS attacks

Anyone else get caught up in todays round of attacks? I have 12 websites down for the count at the moment.

mine was down too.
At this time I dont know right now the reason.

Apparently this was wide spread..i was on twitter while my sites were down and saw tons of other webmasters posting notice of attacks on their hosts.

Yes, this is strange as my host wasnt down even 3 minutes in one year.

Only speculation i've read is that it's related to that asia based arrest of some ddos dudes but you know these days any number of groups can be suspected. I spoke to one company i have three accounts with and apparently their entire network was down with the exception of a handful of sites hosted there.

PHPSUGAR.com was down but only for 3 minutes ...

you gotta be kidding. As if you have more knowledge about securing a website against DDOS attacks and have more security appliances to protect your network than the average hoster or data center. I don't think so. Your ISP doesn't think so either.

Not kidding at all, while I may not have security knowledge I do have network related people immediately accessible (within the family) always a time to learn. Considering my hosts all went down due to ddos attacks I don't think I could possibly do worse than they did I mean they did lose their entire network behind it for a few hours.
