what abt adding new pages from admin panel, i am unable to see such feature in admin area

There is no such a feature. It can be easily manually added, siva. No need for it. The tutorial has only 2 pages, as i remeber.

After 30 minutes of testing: i truly liked.

Congrats Andrew and Paul. Good job. A+ from me.

- impressive list of sources in a transparent way for the admin
- super import from MTV
- good article management
- visual edit of the text boxes in all places + photos upload

It is a huge difference between 1.5.3 and 1.5.4. Worth upgrading.

The next step: more appealing templates

This is 21st century stuffs, i like the Article feature, the embed feature, and the live template option that reminds me of Wordpress admin. This is good stuffs Andrew.

It will be nice to have an intro feature that displays custom messages as soon as a visitor comes thru , with the option to close it, You know!
it will make it easy for the webmaster to convey a message to its visitors.

I like eerthing even though we dont have the TV/Radio channel thingy this time. i have faith in you guys

1. Still no ajax for the tabs. You still got your priorities messed up. If there ever was one URGENT issue that is it. The load on the database is only increasing with every upgrade/update.
2. What's with the stupid frames for the demo? One shift click and you're out of them.
3. One of you guys needs to take some classes in proper design. The new admin section looks like sh*t with all these colours and stuff. It's an eyesore!
4. Import from MTVMusic : almost ALL of their stuff is geo restricted, that means only US/Canada. This only adds more problems with more videos that can't be watched by all our visitors. This is the best way to kill your site. I know this for sure because I've been using their API in a script of my own. It's a waste of time.
5. Knowing full well that youtube is a major problem, you still continue to develop specific youtube features. The entire video checking in admin is mostly for youtube, and therefore by now useless. (It never worked reliably anyway)
I checked an MTV video (Michael Jackson - Bad) it said Video Not Found, tested it, video is playing fine. If you can't make these things reliable then please don't do it at all.
6. I won't elaborate on you stealing the articles idea from me, but the way you implement it with articles under videos is distracting and annoying. The entire layout and design of the articles feature leaves a lot to be desired. It is too obvious it is just thrown in there instead of integrated.
7. I got a video ad demo, then the entire player reloads, that looks extremely unprofessional.
8. I thought you were gonna make major changes to profile, I don't see any?
9. New Videos page still has no paging.
10. How can a featured video be random? That oxymoron doesn't make any sense.
11. Since we are running a video site, why don't you put related videos under articles instead of the other way around.
12. Please provide the upgrade with a decent database upgrade script without all the dead/not embed youtube videos

13. Comments is not changed at all, I thought you said you were going to overhaul that completely?

Overall: I'm sorry but I'm not impressed. I didn't expect to be either. The major issue is the tabs still not being full ajaw, and the horrible design/layout of too many things. It will be a lot of work to change things to be the way I want them, but whatever.. what's new! I don't know if I'll upgrade, there's nothing new that I really MUST HAVE in there. I'm still happy with 1.5. I'm not even using my own page manager. Because I don't want to run a news site. By the way, you're well advised to add a source field for your articles. If you steal something from a news site, the least you can do is add a link back. Too many sources is just unworkable for me. But I run my site my own way. I'm the only one that adds videos anyway.

FYI I used Opera 10 RC for the demo and everything seems to work fine, including admin.

Some more observations:
1. What's the point of having all these wikipedia bios in your database?

Why don't you just link to wikipedia instead? Or does anybody think the search engine don't see you copied that from wikipedia? It will definitely increase the size of your database. That's for sure.
2. Embed using javascript is a strange approach. It relies on every browser having javascript turned on. A lot of people are using firefox with noscript. So that won't work.
Are you even allowed to add javascript to myspace/hi5?
I doubt it. They are anal as far as security is concerned. You can't even post a regular link there.
And javascript opens the door to all kinds of nasties.
Did you test that?

5. Can you put a REAL video ad on there? So we can click the ad and see what happens. Otherwise you're not making any money from them, or?
6. Video player settings (default/remote) should be selectable per source, so you can use the default player for those source where you can, like myspace for example. Now it's global. Everything. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Now I'm using remote player for dailymotion and youtube, all myspace vids still use default flowplayer.

7. templates section in admin is pointless. I paid for your script, and I don't like your advertising in there. The same applies to that facebook spam I received a while ago. You refuse to do a mailing for a serious security issue but then you spam us with your facebook page??
8. video comments in admin also lists comments on articles??
9. One thing that needs to be added (in a next version) is a tags manager in admin. where you can search, replace, edit and delete tags.
10. Another major improvement on the end user side would be to allow search or browsing within a category based on tags. For example when browsing Rock Videos (=category) you can narrow it down to 80s (=tag) etc. So on the browsing pages you can refine your choice using tags. With thousands of videos that would be a major improvement.
11. It never made much sense to me that you are using javascript to sort the tables in admin, it seems pretty useless since it only sorts what is on that page. That feature should do a new listing with a new database query (switch from ASC to DESC etc) Then you have a real overview of your entire site/database, not just one page in admin.
12. Another problem still waiting to be solved (I guess) is the COUNT for the listing of all videos in admin, for the paging setup. To avoid having to COUNT in mysql on every page load, using up quite some server resources, a COUNT field could be added to the database. Whenever any action on a video is done (added, deleted) etc that count should be adjusted (+1 or -1).Then you don't have to count all videos in the database on every page in admin

An alternative is to count the first time video.php loads and then store that result in temp and use that for all consecutive pages.
13. I repeat muzikia's remark: so we're still limited to the video sources that you have chosen. We still can't add any embed code anywhere?

I feel following feature is missing in this beta ..

* Embedded video code should be allowed while adding video in admin page as well as user suggestion page. Like if I need to add some TV Channels or any new video source, I prefer adding embedded code.
* For articles, we need provide an option for user to add an article like suggesting new video. Say user wants to write music reviews or movie reviews or some gossips. Only admin can't add so many articles, he can review those articles written by the user and approve it.
* Also I was looking for Photo Gallery section (not so important one, but it was nice to have feature).
