PHP Melody v2.4 (August, 2015)

Greetings everyone,

PHP Melody version 2.4 is now available for download.

This is a light-weight "summer" release. For the complete list of new features and improvements please review the 'Release notes' page.

If you're already a customer running PHP Melody v2.3.1 you can use the 2.4 update package right now. Just log into your customer area account and go to 'Download Updates' to download it.

If this is your first time upgrading your PHP Melody video site, please read this post's footnotes.

Be careful to only download the packages from the 'Download Products' page if you plan on starting a new video site (i.e. new installation). Whatever you do, please, do not use a new installation of PHP Melody with an older/imported MySQL database. This will not work. Existing PHP Melody sites need to be updated and new PHP Melody installations can only use their respective database.

[1] We've performed tests to ensure the update works out of the box. However, given the wide variety of possible configurations out there and the possibility of critical bugs, please apply this update in a test environment first; especially if you're running a highly 'visible' website.
[2] All PHP Melody themes have also been updated as well. If you're using anything but the 'default' PHP Melody theme, you'll want to download the the latest version of your current theme and use it instead of the existing one.
[3] The v2.4 update can only be applied to video sites using PHP Melody v2.3.1. Applying the current update to any other PHP Melody version will only break the functionality. Please update to the most recent version without skipping updates.
[4] Mobile Melody was also updated today to include a few fixes. You can download it from your customer area account.
[5] If you need help with your customer area account, or have any questions for that matter, please get in touch via customer support.

i made some changes to the theme , so each time i lose every thing or i can keep the theme and update the rest of the website ?

1st bug on V2.4
when activating pre-roll video ads with adblocker on browser
it shows video not found error
or not available in your country
tested on :
firefox : same error
safari : works fine

I have a problem with player ''JW Player 5''.
When there are deleted klip from youtube/vbox7, don't show in section ''Reported Videos''.

Hi,

everything it seems t be running fine after the update to 2.4 except that i have a problem when adding a new video...

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION, expecting ')' in /www/hrmd.tk/web/armyOfOneTV/admin/src/youtube-sdk/src/Google/autoload.php on line 19

about video ads, you MUST yes it's a necessary to add how much the video ad appears , for example once per 10mins , once per minute , once per hour , it's a good feature but unfortunately i'm not using it.

Secondly Phpmelody deserves it's own skinned videojsplayer i made a custom skin but it did not want to change on the site each time i change the files the same skin appears.

phpmelody also deserves a brand new default theme as more theme , and between us my website is getting more than 1.5 million hit per month from more that n 500.000 thousand user i really need a new brand theme for the new year and i'm ready to buy.

AND PLEASE ANDREW ADD A SIMPLE FEATURE to calculate the whole website video views , pers week, per day , per month and all time please it's really a good feature and easy to add.

@Trace - Has Essence theme been updated yet? If not, when is it expected?

Also, is it safe to upgrade to PM 2.4 now, without also upgrading Essence ?

Essence has not yet been upgraded but it is safe to update to 2.4, there are no breaking changes on the front-end. Only some new features which will make its way to Essence in the next update. I don't expect this update very soon though due to my extremely busy schedule.

My Videos are not playing anymore
I'm getting an error on every selected video
Things were fine yesterday
Any Idea whats going on!

The error is no Video specified Please specify one now

I found out this is something wrong with Dailymotion Videos , all others play fine, I guess I'll stop importing from them for awhile until they get things fixed.....
