British website owners could face extradition to the US on piracy charges even if their operation has no connection to America and does something which is most probably legal in the UK, the official leading US web anti-piracy efforts has told the Guardian.

U.S. government is trying to extradite the owners of .com/.net/.org torrent and movie or tv show streaming sites to U.S. to charge them. It seems that those using CCTLD domains are safe for now. Domains like .tv, .me, .eu....

Production companies went after torrent sites and have cases pending against so many movie downloaders. Recent famous one would be for the movie Expendables. 23,300 downloaders are facing charges.
