PHP Melody v1.8

Wow, this has been quite a unique day. It all started when our server crashed. With no hope in sight despair took over and what should have been a liberating day quickly transformed into a nightmare. Long story short, I'm glad we had backups!

I'm also glad we managed to keep our promise and deliver PHP Melody 1.8 today. If you're wondering why the sudden increase in the version digits, don't panic. This is a regular update however from now on the X.X.X format will be solely dedicated to updates which are intended to fix bugs and only that. This leaves the X.X format for updates which also include new features.

Besides the PHP Melody update, we've updated the following themes: B52, Carbon and Ruby with two new themes coming in a couple of days. You can download and use these themes with v1.8.

Unfortunately we didn't set too much time (three weeks) to build this new release. However, we did manage to sort the issues surrounding the v1.7 release and add a social module for PHP Melody. I'm sure some of you will literally overflow with joy because of this. While the social module is at its first iteration, improvements will certainly follow shortly, mostly dependent on your feedback.

Also, we haven't forgotten about the artist field request and we did find a good, reliable way to bring custom fields back into PHP Melody. However, because this feature alone would have taken half of the available time, it will be introduced separately as a custom fields solution in the next update.

Andrew,

I still cannot believe how much value you guys bring. Been a customer for some years now and you've come a long way.

Really love where you guys are taking this product. Just keep doing what you're doing. PHP MELODY will be unbeatable! I just bought a new license for my 2013 project.

Merry X-mas Andrew and thank YOU for the work and the time you put into this product.

Thanks for keeping your release date as promised, that's a huge part for the consumer. Also glad we'll be keeping the script split with custom fields..giving those who need the artist field exactly what they need while allowing the rest of us got what we need too.

I just got finished with two complete uploads. Like 1.7, it still will not load properly with IE9/10 but it loads properly with Firefox. firefox is well mannered even after the loading with IE9/10.

After it's loaded with Firefox, IE9/10 has no problems with it so there is a bug in the install that only affects IE. It's funny, even after the bad install by IE, firefox is fine. And with the install with Firefox, IE is fine.

In the customer section on the right side (blue stripe) there is a section for updates..that's how I got mine. Works great so far, have to do the mobile version next.

I hope that Php Melody continues to grow much more, I have been with you for many years and have always tried to help by suggesting new ideas.
It may not seem right, that the first templates that were released with the first programs have not been updated in the first place.
I worked with version 1.6.7 yet, because I do not want to use the default template or another, since I have several mods with this template "Dynamic" and was the first to be commercialized with the template "default".

Hello, Can I upgrade 1.67 to 1.8? (my version is 1.67, I dont upgrade to 1.7 before)

no you should do the update to 1.7 first and then update to 1.8
