Time for me to do a little show-off as well

My site is http://watchdocumentary.com and it uses quite a few custom mods in phpMelody.

Main features I added:

Social Media integration


Automatically posting of new movies on Facebook and Twitter:


Custom Facebook App showing most popular documentaries as a Tab on our FB page:


Video Publish Queue
Since we don't want to add many video's at the same time but we'd rather release them at regular intervals, I've made a publish queue which publishes the documentaries at the given time:


Email subscriptions
Users can subscribe to updates with our new videos and choose to recieve this on a daily or weekly basis (and on a time/day of their choosing!).

Email example:


Complete video list sorted by category or alphabetic

Created together with the sitemap and using some nice caching mechanism.

Many many small changes/optimizations
Think about things like
- Flowplayer playlists with clickable chapters in descriptions
- Links on publisher names to search page
- 'Series' subcategories with only popular series shown on homepage (determined by number of videos in them or forced via admin panel)
- Videos with description on the main page
- Facebook/Twitter/Etc share via AddThis
- Facebook comments
- Detection system for duplicate thumbnails
- etc


Everything can be improved tho, so if you guys have suggestions I'm all ears.

And Facebook page? I've started one.. but have yet to really add much to it. A work in progress!

Certainly social networking sites are the best way to connect to your fans. If you can't get them to come to you, go to them!
May as well be where they are all at anyway.. on Facebook

And while I don't think there's any personal use for the time feature on my site, it certainly makes sense for your documentaries. If you release a featured documentary part 1 ... you'd want to draw in your fans and get them to come back by giving a release date of the new one.
