How to change you PHP Melody admin password

May 25th, 2011 filled under “Miscellaneous

Losing your PHP Melody admin password isn’t the end of the world. In this post we will help you overwrite your existing password in a matter of minutes.

Reasons why you might need this tutorial:

  • forgot the darn password
  • someone changed it  and forgot to tell you
  • retrieving the password via the “Forgot your password” page fails

Before you begin make sure you have the login details for your cPanel, Plesk or whatever your hosting provider offers as a hosting management console.

Log into your cPanel/Plesk account

  1. Find the phpMyAdmin link which will take you to your MySQL databases
  2. Select your PHP Melody MySQL database
  3. Select the “pm_users” table from all of PHP Melody’s tables
  4. Click on the top left “Browse” tab to see the contents of the “pm_users” table
  5. Go to the first listing (ID number 1), normally the “admin” account and click the edit button (the pencil)
  6. Once on the edit page for the admin account, type in your new desired password in plain text
  7. Make sure you select “md5” from the functions column (on the left of your password)
  8. Hit the “Go” or “Save” button and try your new password by accessing your PHP Melody admin area.

Additionally, we have included some illustrations which should help you with this task.

Results are in for our recent customer survey

February 17th, 2011 filled under “From our Desk

We’ve been running a survey for the last few months to get a feel on what our PHP Melody customers think about their purchase.
The survey was simple and it required a simple rating of the following areas: product pricing, usability, our reputation, design and a question.

Well, the results are in and it seems the “80-20 rule” rules all. More than 80% of our customers offered a “Good” to “Excellent” rating in most areas.
